Experience Rural Zimbabwe – 2 Weeks
Ratidzo Trust needs YOU to come and work with us, setting up our community projects in rural Sanyati, Zimbabwe.
Come and experience rural Zimbabwe while working with the local community, schools, orphans and vulnerable children. We are a new Trust just getting under-way in Sanyati, we need your help to refurbish some of our buildings and set up some of our community projects. You do not need any particular skills, just a willingness to get your hands dirty, get involved & be flexible. (If you do have any building, property maintenance or DIY skills that would of cause be put to good use).
You will be able to visit some of the people we are working with in their homes and see how the projects are making a real difference in their lives. Also visit and maybe do some work in local schools, find out from the teachers and students what school is like in Zimbabwe and meet some of our sponsored orphans and vulnerable children.
WARNING: We are in a very rural setting, we don’t always have power, no hot running water – cold shower is available (we can heat up water for you to wash with if you wish), we eat from the land (no MacBurger King here!!) internet is limited, as is phone reception. Your accommodation is very basic. So if you want all mod cons this is not for you, but if you want a real rural experience then look no further!
To end your trip we spend two nights at a local game park.
Staying in their beautiful lodges, with warm showers!! The cost of the accommodation, breakfast and evening meals at the park is included. You can take additional trips –game drives, horse riding, canoeing and many other activities (bookable & payable at the park). A really lovely way to end the trip.
The cost of the trip is £1000 – this includes, transfer from airport, overnight hotel in Harare B&B, accommodation & food in Sanyati, game park trip, return to Harare for
overnight hotel B&B and transfer to airport. (The cost of the trip does not include flights).
If you wish to raise any excess funds to put towards the work of the trust, this would be greatly appreciated. Payment is 30% deposit at time of booking and full payment is required 2 months before date of trip. You would need to arrange & pay for your own flights, travel insurance, visa $55 and spending money. Places are limited to 6 individuals per trip (minimum of 4).
